Any suggestions for a gps that is easy to use and speaks street names?
I do not need the fancy ones that also hold your music and photos.
I want it to:
-speak street names
-not be over $200
I have mostly been looking at Garmin, but am willing to try other brands.
Any suggestions? Thank you!

All GPS have steet names, but don’t call them out. They will usually say “turn rt or left in so many yards” It will be hard to find one that gives street names for $200. You won’t be satisfied with the sound when downloading your music or photos onto your GPS. Garmin is a good choice.
Most Garmin units tell the name of the street to turn on. Mine does.
garmins in my opinion are the best navigation units. they seem to have better route calculations. anyways the lowest model of garmins that speak street names is the nuvi 260 which will cost you right at $200
on that website it has a chart called Which nĂ¼vi is Best for You? you can compare the models and see which one has the features you want
What you are asking for is a portable Navigation Device that speak street names or Text To Speech.
Currently, most TTS GPS is around $200 and the Garmin Nuvi 260 or 260W is an excellent choice.
The TomTom 130-S is also a great value along with the Magellan 3250.
Also consider the Magellan RoadMate 2200T NOH for only $119 that includes TTS from Auto Nav 2000 Plus, Inc. You may also be able to afford a Magellan CrossOverGPS for $199 that includes not only TTS, but have traffic capabilities along with having music player and picture viewer features.
If you are not sure which unit will fit your needs best, try renting one from GPS4Rent at to find out for yourself which unit may fit your needs best.
Good Luck
