Anyone have a GPS system with traffic alerts that actually work?

I bought the Magellan GPS with traffic and it doesn’t give me a single alert!

I-25 can be at a stop for miles and it doesn’t notify you anything is wrong. No construction alerts either and I pass through the ones at I-76 and 225 and again at I-70 and Ward.

I’m wondering if Tom-Tom or Garmin work any better or if it’s just Denver area that sucks for alerts.

The best one we’ve found is TeleNav which is available for blackberrys and I think several other PDA type phones on the ATT network. You just need a phone with GPS. I know it’s not an in car unit, but it’s far more portable and we’ve been very happy with it.

i suggest you ask this question in electronics section

you can also do a search online through best buy or something and get reviews

i know that the magellen for $200 does not give traffic alerts. i’m looking for one too, that shows real-time traffic and alternatives.

i’ve heard good reviews of garmin & tom-tom, but you have to spend more to get the good traffic results
