santa barbara, ca? possibly... i believe my dad knows that area fairly well, he should, he's been fishing the ventura and santa barbara area my entire life and then some...
he sez:
west end of santa cruz,
sandy areas around santa rosa esp. the sandspit,
yellow bank, s cruz,
chinese harbor, smugglers, s cruz,
some sandy, gravelley coves, far side s cruz,
the entire sb county coastline. he says he has gotten some decent ones off the cemetery just below the pier.
take us with you. we'll show you exactly where we have gotten them in the past although, it's been a while. it's just too expensive any more to go out on the sport boats.
live squid, anchovies, 'dines, even white croaker (tom cod/ronkies) and queenfish (seatrout).
