Can i leave my gps plugged into the cigarette lighter?
When i turn my car off, the screen on my gps says charging even after i turn its power off. is this draining my car battery?? or do i need to unplug it every time i turn my car off?

I would unplug the gps because the cigarette lighter slot still has power going to it. Otherwise, the battery in your car will drain and the car might not start until you jump the car with another one or charge the battery. Christopher
Most high-end gps systems like my newelectronx gps system has a auto shut built inside of it. This mean even though i leave the lighter plugged into it – my gps is so smart that it will shut off once the internal battery inside of it is charged. so i will never have to worry about it draining my car battery. chances are your gps will not drain your battery either, but check the specification on your gps to make sure before you take this advice as concrete information. usually you can find this information in the user manual.
most gps, dont use that much power, but anything left on a prolong period of time can drain a battery – even car battery. so make absolutely sure first. if in doubt, just unplug it each time even though it is a hassle. May
