Can someone find my location if I keep my GPS on my cell on?
If I keep my gps on on my cell can someone find my general location of where I am at that time?
I know authorities can track you, but I was just wondering about regular people. I know there are sites out there that you pay for, but I don’t know if they will actually tell you or not.

um only if the cops are tracking you and you’re a national threat. It’s at it
Yes they can. If they have your cell number, you can be tracked by anyone. BTW, you don’t need to have GPS on your phone. There’s programs widely available NOW, that allows a person to find you if they have the phone number. I have one of the programs and can find any of my friends at any time on my computer. Derrick S
Do you wear a tin-foil hat? Of course anybody with inside access to the phone network would be able to track you. Government law enforcement agencies could do it, as could the phone company — although the phone company may only do it in order to keep general statistical information on where their customers are (areas needing more cell towers?).
Some 3rd party services can track your phone if you voluntarily let them, such as family locator functions, or social networking functions. Flying Pilot
Definate yes. Do you watch tv or simply crime shows like ncis? csi? History channel even. All anyone really needs is your cell # and
its not necessary that your phone have GPS. Christian
No. There are only two rare instances where you can be tracked by GPS:
A) If you or someone else has physically installed a GPS/tracking application on your cell phone that sends your GPS coordinates to a remote server for other people to access
B) In a serious life threating situation (e.g. 911 call), authorities may in some cases be able to track your cell phone to your GPS location if this remote tracking feature is supported by the cell phone
A regular citizen (non authority) has no legal power or capability to initiate a tracking request on your phone.
A GPS device without cell phone service cannot be tracked. GPS devices on their own are simply receivers, they don’t transmit any information back to the satellites. They simply ‘listen’ for signals sent from different satellites and precisely measure how long it takes for those signals to arrive and then deduce their location by doing this for multiple satellites at different positions in the sky (longer signal delay = further distance). The GPS receiver in your phone will help you by telling you your location. It works like a regular car or hand held gps. Others can’t track you.
But if your phone allows gps tracking (a recent law requires all new cell phones to be equipped with this) to help emergency services to track you in case of emergency. I am not sure whether this can be used in normal circumstances or whether it is used only in times of emergencies.
Hope this helps. guideg
Yep, they can find you. Creepy, right? chela☮
