How many watts does a GPS satellite transmit?
I was wondering how many watts does it take for a GPS satellite in space use to transmit a signal to my GPS receiver here on earth?

how come satelites scale for so many GPS units out there?
Hi ,
I am really wondering about this, and couldn’t find any answer, or maybe I wasn’t searching for the right thing.
With all these GPS units being sold nowadays, how come the satellites keep handling all these units questioning “what’s my position now”, how come they scale so well? I need a point to start understanding this.
Cheers!

What are some challenges we face with the GPS technology?
I know that some people are scared of being tracked or something…and another issue is laziness i think?
Do you know any other challenges we face with advanced GPS technology? And how they could be overcome?

How many different GPS satellite networks are there?
The United States has its network, and I think Russia has one too, but I’m not sure. Is that correct? Are there any private ones? How many are there altogether?

I think you need more than three. Its not just simple triangulation. You need AT LEAST three that are within ’sight’ of your device, but some of them are going to be on the other side of the globe, or am I missing something?

Whats the difference between the GPS system and the Star-Fire Network system?
Apart from accuracy that is!
Do they both use the same Satellites?
Thanks
Is Star-Fire network a DGPS system?

How can we perform Differential GPS technique in simple way?
Differential GPS is useful to reduce errors when taking coordinates readings of a point on earth. in fact, and due to many reasons when we take latitude and logitude of a point using our standard GPS receiver , the readings will be shown somewhere els !
There is so many ways to reduce errors
one is and less coastly , using two receivers and set one as a base station … the question is HOW ??
Appreciate everyone who tried and simplified it here for me
Thanks in advance

How do GPS satellites stay in perfect position with out drifting out of position in time?
Seems that no matter how perfectly positioned these GPS satellites are they would drift out of position and that would throw off the computations of our GPS units in cars etc.

Why are GPS satellites in medium orbit rather than geostationary?
Is there an advantage, other than probably cost, to having the GPS satellites at 12,000 miles rather than in geostationary orbit? Would it work either way?
