I had a cheaper brand GPS that I got for Christmas a few years back and it’s crappy because they don’t offer road updates…I just wanted to know if there was a gps that I could get that would run me $100 or less preferably that has these updates that will update locations and roads etc for free?? We already have a garmin that we use in the car but I was hoping to purchase something smaller (and something that won’t lead us to highways)!
I’ve looked at the Bushnell backtrack but it has more negative reviews than positive ones.

My GPS unit use to work great, but now if I disconnect the pwer cord, it will just stop working an turn off, almost as if the battery cannot sustain the charge. Also, no matter how long I re-charge it, if I unpluug it it stops working. Please help?
I wanted to add that “over charging” is not the issue, sometimes I do not use it for weeks and it works fine plugged, does not work unplugged, can I buy a battery?

I bought a usb gps at a flea market, and no driver was included with it. I’ve tried it on Windows XP, Vista, and 7 with no luck at finding a pre-configured driver for it.
Thats the problem.. I dont know who the manufacturer is, and the part number and serial number are worn off. :(
