Has anyone else had a GPS or anything else stolen out of their car?
I had my GPS hidden in the closed console, and there was no damage to my car. It just was missing one day. All of it, the suction cup, charger and GPS.
And I ALWAYS lock my doors!

Had a radio taken right out of the dash one night. Found it 3 days later in a guys car. I had put a mark on it in case someone did steal it. He paid a fine, had to pay to put it back in my truck and is on probation for 2 years.
The S.O.B. stole my whole car. I had a 1965 MGB and some kid decided to take it for a ride. Would have got away with it too if it hadn’t been a small town. The first cop car he passed recognized the car and the fact that I wasn’t driving it and pulled him over. Some people are just plain stupid.
I live in an small village (pop. 300) now and we don’t lock anything up. My neighbour was gone for two weeks and he didn’t even close his garage door when he left.
Awwww Well welcome to Durham! You experienced your FIRST Durham minor robbery! Everyone that goes/lives/ or visits Durham has to experience that at least once!
Im really sorry that happened to you, Im just trying to make light of the situation.
Ive never had it happened and I hope it doesnt.
Yup. About a year ago my wife left the garage door open. They took my Magellan GPS, suction cup, and traffic kit. It was out in the open, mounted to my dash. Someone spotted him running out of my garage. I had the serial number and filed it as a stolen device but it never returned.
Fortunately, my insurance paid for a new one. My TomTom now reminds me every time I turn it off to “take me with you, or a thief will!”
Some GPSs will remember where you dismounted it from the car and then help you find your car in the parking lot later. If nothing else, it’s a great reason (besides paranoia, that is) to take it with you when you leave your car.
