I have had a GPS from Garmin for a year now and it says that it is time for an update. I want to know how much it will cost me to buy this update, and or if it’s worth buying an update. Please help!

you can see all price ranges

generally updated and upgraded one will be costly
If you want you can buy costly one with latest specifications

If you want budgeted one, select based on your taste
you can see all garmin prices in the link Udayalakshmi Goli

A onetime update costs $69.99 and a lifetime update costs $119.99.

I recommend the lifetime update as it will last for the lifetime of the unit. It is cheaper after only two updates, compared to the onetime. James

Given the proliferation of GPS units on the market today, you may be better off purchasing a new unit. Depending on where you travel you may not get much benefit from a map update. Interesting that the new TomTom units are now including lifetime map updates and lifetime traffic. You may want to check those out. I suspect that Garmin will soon be doing the same thing. You can compare units and their features at allowing you to get a unit that will really fit your needs. In addition they include reviews from actual unit owners. Good luck. Mike P
