that is called mobile phone location tracking, try mobile tracking system, it worked for me:-&catid=35:gps&Itemid=59
or if he had iphone, try find my iphone.
be noted the app may not work for you depends on your cell phone os, then you may browse around, i remember there are other tracking softwares. in case none works, try
