How to use the GPS in the iPhone 3GS to monitor your running route(s)?

Anyone Know? asked:

I’m aware of something pre installed called Nike + iPhone, or whatever, but I don’t like using accelerometer-based measurement, due to natural inaccuracies when your stride distance changes during periods of increased / decreased pace.

So what apps / methods are you aware of?

Thanks in advance for your answers.

Im not sure about the iphone gps system but I am like you that I prefer a GPS system rather than pedometer system.

A fault perhaps that I have is getting a tool that is specific for the job in hand (a spanner will knock a nail in a wall, but a hammer is better), so I got myself a GPS watch. If you check a site like e-bay you might be able to pick up a garmin 205 for about £80 now (Second hand but still good), then of course you can run without the phone and have no distractions of people calling you! (The watch is good that you can see it as you run – iphone might have to be in a holder where you can’t see its screen) whycantigetagoodnickname
