I did a search on line, just googled it and got some nice review pages. I landed up buying a Garmin NUVI 350 based on my needs and reviews. It’s got text to speech, meaning it tells you street names, not just “turn right in 300 feet”. Nice touch screen, instead of a slew of buttons. It’s small, not much bigger than a pack of cards. Good accuracy, though it doesn’t have a recent list of local attractions, shopping, gas stations, etc. Decent trade-off in my mind.

I paid $400 on Walmart.com for it, which is cheaper than walking into the store, where it was $488. Don’t ask me why, but it took a week to arrive and I picked it up at the store I would have bought it at anyway.

The 360 adds Bluetooth, if that’s a feature you’d like. I also seriously considered TomTom, the 510. Ultimately went with the NUVI and very happy.
