Unfortunately, yes it can be as anytime the iphone is still connected they can track you using GPS.
=&threadid=96451

Fortunately there is a way to disable the GPS entirely without anyone unwanted knowing about it.

You must go to Settings -> General -> and then "Location Services"

Make sure the subject "Location Services" is highlighted. Now shut it off by moving the slider to off. GPS has now been disabled, nobody will be able to track the iPhone any longer.

But those pesky things such as battery life, and the fact your phone will die out in a few weeks due to the crummy battery usage rate do remain.

However if you're serious about using your iphone alot, you should do what most people do and that is get a solar charger pack. In the longrun it will save you countless trips to the store & buying what else but dozens of extra batteries.

And to me that's the real important thing, so you're getting the most bang for your buck.

if you remove the SIM card there is no possibility for him to track you...
if you are using the SIM card (ie using the iphone as a mobile) just switch off "data transmission" under "settings"..
but dont you worry... he shoudlnt be able to track anylonger...

you may use the iphone manual at :http://manuals.info.apple.com/en_US/iPod_touch_2.2_User_Guide.pdf
