Yes, there is. You must buy a GPS and install your desire map on it.
Search on Google.com to find some GPS corps.
All GPSs should work all around the world…
Just buy one and switch it on for a minutes or two for the GPS to ‘align’ to the GPS satellites.. then u should be OK.
But…a GPS without the Mapping is close to walking in the dark.
So..you’ll also need to ‘Geocache’. Checkout google.com for the GPS maps for Okinawa.
I think you can purchase easily.
I often go to Okinawa and I find every rent-a-car has GPS(car navigation system).
But problem is that those display in Japanese.
If you have mobile phone in both Japanese and English, it may has GPS in English. Ask mobile shop.
You can buy a GPS with a generic map of the world. This can be used for basic travelling as it shows only the major highways.
If you want more detailed maps, get the GPS with programmable map. You will need to buy the map of the country from the GPS company.
If you are computer savvy, you can use a map together with a GPS receiver to plot your location and run around with a PDA or notebook. Such maps can be downloaded free on the net. You just need too program the GPS position to the map and you got GPS map.
Hope this helps.
♡If you can’t find anything suitable, get a cell phone that has the GPS feature IF IT’S AVAILABLE IN ENGLISH. Not only will it work as your cell phone, but also GPS system, e-mail and all the other many functions they provide. Many of the cell phones in Japan are bilingual. Be sure to inquire about this though BEFORE you buy or rent. I don’t have/use this feature on my phone, but my camera, settings, tool box and other features are all in English. If all else fails you could look into it. Good luck and I hope you find something that helps you!♡
