Is there any way that I can tell if a gps that I purchased is refurbished?
I got it on ebay but I don’t think it is new as described. It is a Magellan 1200. Also does this have a battery or do you need to use the power supply for the cigarette lighter?

Its hard to tell if it is refurbished, unless they stated it while on sale. Most of the factories will attached a sticker, usually a quality assurance sticker and you can figure out that it is refurbished, but ofcourse the seller will remove them. Take note of the serial numbers and contact Magellan to determine if it is a remanufactured unit….And it has an internal battery that would last for about 3hrs fully charged, in minimum settings(brightness, volume). The best way to charge it is an AC charger maybe sold at radioshack. The car charger will charged it while in use, but don’t play with it while the engine is off for you might drain the batt..
