    This site is really nice. There is a basics link in there, which talks about things I wouldn’t have thought of, such as how easy different models are to read in bright sunlight.

    Also, there are models out there that are tied in with the local traffic information, something that I would think would be very useful to a limo driver in a large metro area. If there was a traffic jam on the way to the airport, the thing directs you to an alternate route.

    That is a tough question because there are so many differences in GPS units. Most of the differences are in what the GPS is to be used for and Auto navigation is probably the most common. Garmin has been making GPS systems the longest and probably the easiest to use is the Garmin NUVi series. They are all ready to use right out of the box and preloaded with nation wide maps, though there is no monthly for GPS most NUVi scan get MSN direct that gives traffic updates for a monthly though I don’t know how much I don’t use it.
    I have the NUVi 260w it is great for the price, it has turn by turn directions you don’t even need to look at it the voice tells you when to turn, it even warns you when the turn is coming up 1000 feet 500 feet 100 feet and tells you the name of the street to turn on so to make sure you don’t miss it. I love it, If you do miss the turn for some reason it automatically recirculate the route for you in seconds.
