Other than overcast skies or very remote areas, what would cause me to lose GPS satellite signal?

I just purchased a GPS and used it this weekend from Upstate NY down to Roanoke VA. During sunny times and right while on the Interstate, I would get a notification that satellite was lost. What was happening?

    Solar flares may cause this but very rare. Antenna in poor spot. Antenna broken. Go through a tunnel? Cheap unit. Antenna wire not connected properly. That’s about it. Ulrich S

    sounds like the gps has a weak internal receiver. this is prominent on tons of those cheap gps navigators sold in stores today. take the gps back and get a better one, that will be more reliable.

    mine works good all the time. i get at least 5 to 10 satellites all the time. sometimes more. Uni Q
