HOT CHOCOLATE asked:

Should the use of gadgets (cellphones, handheld GPS, etc) while driving be banned in Canada? However, drivers would be allowed to use cellphones with earpieces or Bluetooeth devices, etc.

What arguments could be raised on both sides of this issue?

These are big driving distractions. They should be banned everywhere. I can’t tell you how many wrecks are caused from people on the phone. Regardless of the earpiece.

Definitely. It has been banned here as it has been proven to distract people while they are driving. Drivers need to focus on the road, not talking on their phones and other hand held devices.
