That sound, if your phone is by a speaker, right before a call or text? My phone does it EVERY 54 minutes on the button. Is my phone sending out info on my whereabouts, even though my GPS is off?

I tried calling someone and my cell said “warning low signal” so I typed *228 for verizon update, and it said “it was reaching a US cellular tower. I have had vzw for 9 years and no problems before. Not only that our tv keeps going in and out, and my husband said his gps would put him on roads completely out of his direction. Could any of this be due to the digital transition?

here’s the deal. I work for huge company(no names) there are about 12 on the road service technicians with nextel cell phones, they are gps ready. well atleast 4 technicians are showing a position with coordinates, but the others are still at zero’s. is it possible only some have been tracked? the time stamps don’t make any sense either, odd hours of the day and even weekends,(we don’t work weekends. is it possible the phone is calling on the satellites, and were not being pinged by employer? please help with any info thanks.

I’ve seen on TV private eye get a location via a cell phone. Maybe a better way to ask the question is how can somebody get a cell phones location without having a friend at the phone company giving up which tower the signal is hitting
