Does anyone else have this problem with their GPS?

I just got out of the hospital. My GPS told me to make a left, so I did. I was broadsided by an SUV. Why would it tell me to take a left if there was a vehicle coming? Didn’t the GPS know the other car was there? Can I start a class-action lawsuit. I am positive I am not the first one. Was my unit defective?
