How can I use my GPS in my Corvette while driving? I need an over ride code to enable the unit?

I would like to have my passenger operate the unit, not myself as that might be dangerous. It would be most helpful to get around traffic jams, accidents, etc. The people at GM will not help, but there is got to be a way to hack around the block?
