How can I get my GPS to show the names of streets?
My GPS Unit, when in the “view map” mode shows the locations of all the streets along the route that I’m traveling, but only shows the names of a few of them. Is there a way to get the unit to show the names of more streets?

Is anyone else having problems with Omnitech GPS signal?
I have an Omnitech GPS unit that has not been able to pick up a signal since Sunday. When I call tech support, there is a recorded message that they are aware of this problem and that it is a problem in the communication with the satellite and they are hoping to have a solution “within days”. Anyone else have a problem and is this unique to this brand of GPS?
Can you turn a GPS unit on while flying on an airline?
I always bring my GPS unit so I can find my way around an unfamiliar city. I’ve always wanted to turn it on while on the plane to see what it does, is that allowed? I think its just a receiver, and doesn’t transmit anything.
I’m always interested in knowing how fast were traveling, and where we are while flying.
When using a GPS unit to display distance travelled is it the actual distance you travel that you are given?
Using a unit such as a garmin handheld.
For example if I hike over hills I travel a vertical and a horizontal distance. This combined would be greater than the distance I would travel if the ground was flat. Is this extra distance also calculated, or is it just the simple point to point displacement?
