The metal contact of my gps charger has gone missing how can I make a homemade one or get it to work?

The metal contact that goes into the ashtray thus giving the gps power is missing rendering it useless.

I’m wondering a way to make a homemade one or to resolve this issue without purchasing a new charger.

    It’s fairly easy.
    Open the plug, (you should find a screw on either side) and locate the wire that leads to the contact slot, and fill the old contact slot with tin foil until it’s full and you have some left on the outside, enough to make contact with the power socket. Clean the insulation off the cable, if it has any, and run the cable into the other end of the tin foil that’s on the inside of the plug. Screw the plug back the way it was and Presto! :)
