    I have a garmin nuvi 200.
It was cheaper then some of the high end GPS units but it has a few things i wanted..

software updates! update maps and content via a usb and pc interface.
big screen, clear and easy to read.
portable able to move it to other cars or walk around with it and not worry. M D

You’ll probably want something with live traffic updates.

Garmin, Magellan and Tom Tom are the top 3 brands. The rest are kinda iffy on reliability and quality. PETER GRIFFIN

A few things that you might want to consider – Ease of Use, Features, fast response or reception. I always encourage people to do some research and read the product reviews before deciding which brand or model to buy. I changed my old Garmin to Garmin nuvi 780 early this year and i am very satisfied with it performance. The large LCD screen, fast acquisition of the satellite signal, easy to operate and most importantly it is very handy – thin and light, i can keep it in my pocket without worry about a carrying case. Check out this website of my friend to find out the product details and reviews. William
