This site has reviews of all the top units listed down the left hand menu. What I like about it is the snippets of actual comments by people who own the various type of GPS systems for cars. It also makes it easy to compare the various models.
In general Garmin is the best, and it is basically just deciding how much you want to pay and what features you really need.
There are a lot of features added to GPS units that sound great, and jack up prices but aren’t really anything you’ll actually use…an .mp3 player or picture viewer for example.
Shop wisely and you’ll find something that does a great job and doesn’t bust your budget.
