What handheld GPS should I buy for Panama?
I want to be able to get GPS coordinates from various places in Panama and then place them on a Google map. Do I need a special handheld, software, etc.? Thanks!

Theoretically all gps’s will work. Although if you want one that will show you your co-ordinates on a map within the GPS itself you will need one that has a Panama map stored in it’s memory. If you just want to get the co-ordinates and them put them on a map later than any GPS will do.
I would recommend looking at gps’s first, then going to the manufacturer’s website and asking this question there.
You also may want to look at the electrical outlets in Panama if you are planning on re-charging the GPS. If you’re running it on replaceable batteries then you don’t need to worry.
You have to get one that has map capabilities, and that it has a map for Panama. I really don’t know if there’s one, as I know we don’t have a GPS map for the city streets to be used for car navigation.
As for recharging don’t worry, as we use the same voltage as in the US 110/120V
