What is a good GPS system to use in my car?

    I really like Garmin’s user interface. The newer ones even have pin-numbers to prevent people from finding your house if they break in and steal it.

    Tomtom is okay, brother has one of them. There are more options, but it gets cumbersome.

    I’d have to suggest a Garmin. Any model within your budget will be good.

    The reason I like Garmin is that they’ve given the user the ability to easily customize things like the voice prompts and the vehicle icon. I know it’s just play around stuff but they make it so easy to do and it’s a lot of fun. Garmin is very accurate too. BeingGreenOnline

    Garmin is in my opinion the best GPS company. I have a Garmin Nuvi 205 and a TomTom One and the Nuvi is hands down better. If you want just a basic GPS that gets you from point A to pint B go for a Nuvi 205&

    The more features you add on such as text to speech street names(the GPS will actually speak out street names instead of just saying “turn ___ in ____miles”), mp3 player, bluetooth(cell phone connects to the GPS), voice recognition(speak directions instead of having to type them in), FM Transmitter(hear the directions through the car’s speakers instead of the built-in GPS speaker’s), lane assistance(shows exactly which lane you should be in which is good for highways so you do not miss an exit)

    You can go with the Garmin Nuvi 855 which has all the above mentioned features for slightly less than $200&

    On the links there is a chart called “Which nüvi is Best for You?” which will assist you in finding the right model of Nuvi based on the features you want

    My last bit of advice is to get a Nuvi that ends with ‘5′ these are the newer models that have extra features like post speed limit curtie2486

    Garmin is a best gps system for car, Garmin has a simple controls – simply touch the color screen to enter a destination, has a turn-by-turn voice directions, 2-D or 3-D maps and more feature.

    I would suggestion these best quality and popular Garmin GPS :

    Garmin Nuvi 255W : same as 205W but has text-to-speech (you get turn by turn spoken directions with the real names of streets (e.g. “turn left in 50 feet at Nebraska Way”, rather than merely “turn left in 50 feet”)), 4.3-Inch diagonal touch screen color display, where am I function, etc.

    Garmin Nuvi 265WT : has text-to-speech, 4.3-inch diagonal color touchscreen, bluetooth, preloaded Maps with Navteq data of North America + Hawaii + Puerto Rico, free real-time traffic updates from Navteq (for the life of the device), etc.
