What is a reliable and affordable GPS unit for my car?

I’d like a dependable GPS hook up for my car. Something under $250 (the $100-150 range is better) and is worth it. I don’t know much about this stuff but if I find a good one I’ll get it for Christmas.

    I had a Cobra once and it was worthless, try and get a Tom Tom they seem to be reliable.
