What is the best but cheap portable GPS ?

    no such thing as best, or even good for that matter, my mates all have different gps units and i still rely on a map book and i always get places first, sat navs take you the most pathetic ways to places. if you are not capable of plotting your own route befor you leave then i advise you stop driving anywhere you dont no the way to

    The Garmin Nuvi series of GPS Navigators are really good models.

    What I like about them is the control that you have over your voice command (being able to change the voice) and the car icon that the system uses to display your position. Garmin has a web site where you can download new icons if you want to trick out your GPS Navigator with really nice looking icons. No other GPS Navigator allows so much tweaking and customization.
