		<description>I think the first car company that offer GPS as an option was Old&#039;s in their Old 88 and 98 known as the GuideStar.
It was offered also first on the Avis rental vehicle by Visteon AKA PathMaster. This was back in 1995.
Hertz took over the PathMaster GPS rental. Rockwell owned the PathMaster who purchased it from Visteon and Magellan purchased the rights from Rockwell shortly after.
So Magellan GPS systems is currently in the Hertz Rental cars but they never sold it as OEM.

Honda had a GPS that utilized PCMCIA card back around 1995 that was an option for Honda vehicles. Honda GPS was made by Alpine.</description>
