Nathan T asked:

I am thinking about getting a range finder for golf . . .
Do you have to get a membership to skycaddie in order to use it for golf courses?

Also, would you consider a laser rangefinder or a Golf GPS better all around?

Whatever your answer, which do you think is the best laser or GPS on the market?

    A) get a GPS much better then a rangefinder (I’ve had both)
    B) SkyCaddie is great & you can map your own courses for free or subscribe to yearly fees
    C) I had a Nikon rangefinder & it worked well

well the best is skycaddie. and yes you have a yearly membership with them and you have to pay for all of the courses you download. as far as the lasers maybe bushnell

Best is a subjective term. Depending on what features you are looking for will determine your choice.

I recommend the Garmin Approach G5. It has thousands of golf courses in it’s data base.
