Many handheld GPS units will track where you’ve been. I’m not sure they will save the “map” for another use. You’ll have to read the instructions and see what yours is capable of. Or pay out the money for one that will do what you want. Mine is a cheaper model, and it stands to reason that if you pay hundreds of dollars more, you get more.
