Why would someone use blue tooth with a portable GPS device?
I understand using a blue tooth with a cell phone, but why a portable GPS device? What is the advantage of using a blue tooth with a portable GPS device? Since you are not talking with a portable GPS device, what’s the point?

It depends what sort of GPS it is.
A sat-nav GPS might have Bluetooth to use as a handsfree speaker phone for a mobile -phone, or to tether to its data service for additional features.
You can get plain GPS receivers/loggers that have Bluetooth to use instead of a wired serial port, for notebook or handheld computers. classicsat
